Compensation: $1200-$1300/month

Remote: Philippines-Based Independent Contractor

Schedule: Full-time, 40hrs/week (Must be available to work U.S. business hours or an agreed schedule with some overlap with the client’s team)


📌About the Company

We are a growing real estate property management company overseeing a residential portfolio of approximately 303 units across multiple properties, with continued growth expected over time.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Real Estate Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to support our accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with day-to-day bookkeeping for our property portfolio.

The ideal candidate has experience in real estate or property management accounting, understands property-level bookkeeping, and is comfortable working with accounting/property management software such as Yardi Breeze Premier or similar platforms.


📌Role Summary

The Real Estate Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant will support the finance and operations team with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, rent/payment tracking, vendor bill processing, and property-level financial organization.

This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to manage recurring accounting tasks in a structured and timely manner. The candidate should be comfortable working remotely, communicating with a U.S.-based team, and supporting a full-time schedule.

🔸Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

-Enter, review, and organize vendor invoices in the accounting/property management system

-Code expenses accurately by property, vendor, and expense category

-Match invoices with supporting documentation when applicable

-Track due dates and help prepare payment batches for internal review

-Coordinate with the internal team regarding invoice questions, approvals, or missing information

-Maintain organized records of vendor bills, payment status, and supporting documents

-Assist with vendor statement reviews and follow up on discrepancies when needed


Accounts Receivable / Rent & Payment Tracking

-Assist with tracking tenant rent payments, deposits, and outstanding balances

-Help post or reconcile payments in the property management system

-Support follow-up reporting for unpaid balances, late payments, or payment discrepancies

-Assist with organizing tenant payment records and property-level income tracking

-Help maintain clean and accurate AR records for review by the finance team


Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations

-Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts on a regular basis

-Match deposits, withdrawals, vendor payments, and property-related transactions

-Identify and flag discrepancies, duplicate entries, missing transactions, or unusual activity

-Assist with month-end reconciliation processes

-Ensure transactions are properly categorized and tied to the correct property or entity


Property-Level Accounting Support

-Maintain accurate bookkeeping records by property

-Support property-level income and expense tracking

-Assist with monthly financial reporting preparation

-Help organize property-specific bills, rent payments, utilities, mortgage/loan payments, insurance, taxes, repairs, and maintenance expenses

-Support the finance team with clean, organized records for management review and CPA/tax preparation


System and Administrative Support

-Work within Yardi Breeze Premier or similar real estate/property management accounting software

-Maintain accurate data entry and consistent documentation

-Upload, organize, and file invoices, receipts, statements, and accounting records

-Follow established workflows and assist in documenting processes when needed

-Communicate clearly with the finance and operations team regarding pending items, issues, and deadlines

🔸Qualifications


-Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience

-Experience in real estate, property management, or rental property accounting preferred

-Experience with Yardi Breeze Premier strongly preferred

-Experience with similar platforms such as AppFolio, Buildium, Rent Manager, QuickBooks, or other property management/accounting systems is a plus

-Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general bookkeeping

-Ability to accurately code expenses and organize transactions by property

-Strong attention to detail and accuracy

-Ability to work independently and meet recurring deadlines

-Strong written and verbal English communication skills

-Comfortable working remotely with a U.S.-based team

-High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism


Preferred

-Experience supporting a multi-property real estate portfolio

-Familiarity with rent rolls, tenant ledgers, vendor bills, owner/property reporting, and property-level P&L tracking

-Experience handling high-volume transaction entry and reconciliation

-Ability to identify accounting inconsistencies and ask the right questions

-Comfortable working with shared folders, spreadsheets, email, and remote communication tools

-Experience assisting with month-end close or CPA-ready bookkeeping
